I'LL FILE THIS UNDER “THINGS ONLY I CARE ABOUT"

I just need to get this off my chest, then I promise I'll never mention it again, until the next time.

Pictured is the Rickenbacker 330. I've always wanted one, because Paul Weller had one, and Paul Weller wanted one because Pete Townshend and John Lennon had one, and well, you get the idea.

I've never gotten one though, because (and this may be a silly reason) on the left-handed version, the iconic R tailpiece is upside-down. There's some chat about whether they should have made a flopped version, and apparently it was deemed "too costly to manufacture" for what would be "at most a few hundred units." You can, by way of some sort of a solution, convert to a trapeze tailpiece instead. Which I simply won't do. I want the R. (The Rickenbacker name going the wrong way on the headstock doesn't bother me as much.)

Anyway ... I'm just going to heave a big sigh every time I think about it.
